When it comes to medications, there's a big difference between those made for adults and for children. Children's medicines are specially formulated to deliver the right amount of medicine to your young child or baby.
Before giving a child any medicine (whether a TYLENOL® product or any other kind), it's important you always read and follow the label. Use only the dosing device provided with the product to give the correct dosage. If you give your child medicine using anything other than the device that came with the product, you could risk giving too much.
Always remember:
For more information on children's dosing, read this Children's Dosage Guide.

All our boxes and bottles clearly state how much medicine is in each formulation. It's all right to continue to use the children's and infants' acetaminophen products you have, according to the label on the bottle. However, don't use the directions from the new, less concentrated product with the old, more concentrated product - this could result in a serious overdose and cause liver damage.
If questions arise when you're giving TYLENOL® to your child, be sure to tell your doctor exactly which concentration you have so he/she can tell you the correct dosage amount for the product you are using.
