For additional help, consider some of these tips:

  • Keep in mind uncoated pills may be harder to swallow than coated or gelatin pills.
  • Be sure you moisten your mouth and throat. Swallow some water or other beverage before taking a pill.
  • Try drinking liquid with a straw when taking a pill, instead of out of a glass.
  • Check to see if your medication comes in another form such as liquid or gelatin capsule.
